10 Paradox About Crative People

1. Creative people have a great deal of physical energy, but they are also often quiet and at rest.
– Great deal of physical energy but also often quiet and at rest means that even though creative people have an overflowing energy inside of them, they can be calm. They are in control of what to do and what not to do.

2. Creative people tend to be smart yet naive at the same time.
– Smart yet naive at the same time. Most creative people think uniquely and tend to solve something with an unordinary way. There are a lot of creative people who got negative response when they are telling about their ideas. People tend to make fun of them because creative ideas are usually something that are new and unimaginable without prove.

3. Creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.
– Playfulness and discipline. This sentence reminds me of a tag line from one of huge Japan’s game makers company which is NATSUME. The tag line is “Serious Fun”. In my opinion, fun or playfulness and discipline are a perfect match. Example of discipline without playfulness. If with take a look in the military base camp, discipline is number one. There are no smiles or laughter when they practice the line formation. They look like a robot that takes order without questioning it. This is surely killing their creativity sooner or later. That is why in discipline, it must be combined with playfulness.
– Responsibility and irresponsibility. Being creative means that we have to think out of the box. When we are thinking out of the box, sometimes we have to bend or even break the rules. Breaking the rule is considered to be an irresponsibility act.

4. Creative people alternate between imagination and fantasy, and rooted sense of reality.
– Imagination and fantasy and rooted sense of reality. Being creative requires imagination and dreaming. With the power of imagination, we can create things that we can not create in reality. However, being imaginative does not mean that we are 100% creative. In order to be the ultimate creative person, we must think of how to make our imagination real. That is why creative people have to be both imaginative and a high sense of reality.

5. Creative people trend to both extroverted and introverted.
– Extroverted and introverted. Creative people must be able to communicate with others. By communicating, being extroverted, they could define problems and some clues to solve the problem creatively. When it comes to analyzing time, creative people usually shut their self out of the world in order to concentrate and to find some inspirations. That is why creative people can be both extroverted and introverted.

6. Creative people are humble and proud at the same time.
– Humble and proud at the same time. Creative people often achieve something that is new and useful to others. In my opinion, the word “proud” here means that creative people is happy when their invention can be used by other people. Humble is a reminder that creativity does not stops just yet. It allows creative people to keep on exploring at discover new things. So being humble and proud must be balanced.

7. Creative people, to an extent, escape rigid gender role stereotyping.
– Escape rigid gender role stereotyping. Creative people does not judge other people.

8. Creative people are both rebellious and conservative.
– Rebellious and conservative. Every society has its own tradition. Most of these traditions must be obey and followed. However, being creative has no boundaries. Sometime this tradition must be broke to be creative. But being creative does not necessarily means that we have to break the tradition.

9. Most creative people are very passionate about their work, yet they can be extremely objective about it as well.
– Passionate and objective. Creative people often can not stand still for a very long time. When they have accomplished something, they usually jump on to the next task and try to solve it. Passionate here means that creative people give their full attention to their work. But when they finished it, they maybe will not doing the same thing again. They tend to try different things. They challenge their self to their limit.

10. Creative people’s openness and sensitivity often exposes them to suffering and pain, yet also to a great deal of enjoyment.
– Suffering and pain yet great deal of enjoyment. When creative people try to find a unique way to solve a problem, they often focused on it and forget about other things. Sometime, they even forget to eat for days. When they are trying to find an inspiration, they look like they are having a very hard time and often looked like a “zombie”. However, thinking is one of the key in being a creative person. Just by doing that makes creative people think that they are a living person.

In my opinion, there is one thing that a creative person must have. Remember when you are little you feel that nothing is impossible? However, as time goes by and you are starting to grow up, later you know that there are many things that are impossible to do. Creative people should be able to think the impossible way like children do. Therefore, creative people can be mature yet immature at the same time.

The Most Creative Company

For me, the most creative company would be BANDAI. First of all, here is a little information about Bandai that I discovered on the internet. Bandai was founded in 1950. Some of the early tin plate toys are highly collectible; the pictured model car will sell for around US$150.

In the 1960s Bandai expanded to include export sales. Bandai’s racing car set, which first appeared in

1962, became a huge success.

The 1970s continued to see Bandai expand, with Bandai Models being established in 1971. Although not their most profitable range, Bandai’s 1/48 scale AFV models dominated that segment of the model kit market. Bandai America Inc. was established as local US sales/marketing operation in 1978. Since the 1980s, Bandai has become the leading toy company of Japan, and to this day, has the main toy licenses in Japan to popular properties including Daikaiju, Ultraman, Super Robot, Kamen Rider, the Super Sentaih series (which they took part in creating), Gundam and many others. The managements of Bandai and Sega officially agreed to merge in the late 1990s, but the merger was later cancelled, citing “cultural differences”.

During the early 80’s, Bandai distributed a number of videogame machines. In 1982 the Bandai Arcadia, a variant of the Emerson Arcadia 2001, was released in Japan by Bandai. There were also 4 Japan-only game releases which were the only known Arcadia titles written by other companies than UA Ltd. They also released local variants of the Intellivision and vectrex game consoles.

Bandai produced a running mat called the Family Fun Fitness System for the Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System starting in 1986. A series of games was released both in the US and in Japan, including Athletic World and Stadium Events for the NES. Shortly after its release, Nintendo purchased the rights to the FFF mat in North America, replacing it with their own redesign, the Power Pad. In order to maintain branding continuity, Stadium Events was pulled from shelves after a short period of availability at Woolworth’s Department Stores. Due to the fact that the game was pulled from shelves and discontinued before many copies were sold, Bandai’s Stadium Events is universally accepted as the rarest licensed NES game released in North America. The sister game to Stadium Events, called Athletic World was initially released with a label that indicated compatibility with the Family Fun Fitness mat, but was later re-released with an updated label that mentions the Power Pad instead. Stadium Events was not released again, but instead was slightly modified and relaunched as the Power Pad pack-in game, World Class Track Meet.

In the 90’s, Bandai teamed up with Apple to make the The Pippin. They also made their own game console, the Playdia. Neither was a mass-market success. In 1999, Bandai created the Wonderswan portable game system. It, and its update, the Wonderswan Color, sold modestly well, but were unable to seriously challenge the dominant Game Boy Color and later, the Game Boy Advance. It was discontinued in 2003.

As for myself, I like action figure and video games very much. That is the main reason why I chose BANDAI as the most creative company. They can make the children’s imagination come true. For instance, the famous cartoons among the kids these days are power ranger, Ben 10, digimon, etc. Kids like these cartoons very much. What Bandai did is make the characteristic in the cartoons into a touchable form. Not only that it is a great and creative product, but it is also a product that can stimulate the children’s imagination. Have you ever see what do kids do with these action figure and video games? They run around and making funny noises as if as the action figure were alive. From this kind of phenomenon, we know that the children are entering their imaginative side of the brain. They imagine what would the character on his hand do, where is he now, and what kind of great adventure that they and their action figure are about to experienced. Like I said before, creativity is all about imagination. Imagining can make us think the unthinkable. Make us do the undoable. Well, ate least that is what I think personally.

Other than action figure, Bandai also make a model kit. A model kit is an action figure that we have to construct first in order to see its true form. We have to match the pieces by reading the manual. The patience in building a model kit is very entertaining. We really want to see the result of our work yet we do it slowly and carefully in order to achieve a good look of our model kit. Imagine that Bandai can create something that must be recreated by the customer themselves. Not only that, the customer must paint these little pieces to gain the exact looks like in the movies.

Another famous product that is produce by Bandai is tamagotchi.

Tamagotchi is a little portable console that allows children to have an imaginary pet. Many parents in the word do not like their family having a pet for many kinds of reasons. For instance, they don’t want to expense an extra cost for the foods, medications, beauty salon for pets, and many other items for the pets. Not mention the pet’s left over that could end up in any place inside and out of the house. They think that children like to take care of the pet just for awhile and parents have to deal with it in the end. Seeing this problem, Bandai creatively creates tamagotchi. A device that makes children have pet without actually owning a pet. In tamagotchi, user musts give this “pet” food, bath it, clean up it’s left over, play with it, and many other activities that we usually do with our pet. Thanks to this device, parents and children can have their own way with out any disadvantages at all besides an extra expense on the battery of the device itself.

Bandai is still creating unique and creative products till this very second. The secret of Bandai’s success is their creative imagination and their ability to make it come true. They maybe selling products for kids, but do not ever underestimate this company. Bandai had been known all over the world and had successfully established a very good and profitable relationship with companies all around the globe. I think, Bandai is one of many companies that will survive until the end of world. Not because of its money or its relationship with other companies, but Bandai will survive because of its creativity and imagination and its power to make it come true. so, be creative, be imaginative, maybe someday, you’ll be or better than Bandai.

The importance of creativity

Look at this picture carefully. This is what we would have lived if there are no creativity in peoples mind. We would’ve still live in a tent, hunting animals with our sharp rocks and woods, live from one place to another until all of human resources are gone. Think of how fast the world will meet its ends if we keep doing that on our every day life.

Thanks to creativity, people learn from the past and try to create many things and ways in order to survive. For example, the pre historic cave men figure out the way to plant rather than live in a nomaden (move from one place to another when there are no resources left to gather) or food gathering way of life. And then, people starts to use drawings, symbols, and writings to record their past also to communicate with each other. That is why creativity is important.

Using creativity, people keep on developing many things to make their life easier. Well, for me personal that was the first mission of creativity. However, later on, people felt that the creativity that they had developed was not enough. Human keeps on inventing new stuff that makes their life easier yet they use sophisticated knowledge to do it. And now, here we are leaving the easy yet complicated life in a complicated environment.

That is why creativity is important. We have to think creatively in order to survive in this complex world. With out creativity, there will be no cloth to cover our body, no electricity to give light at night, there will be no internet, there will be no skyscrapers, etc.

The most creative person in the world

What do you see in this picture? Try to guess what it is. If you ask me, I’d say it is a lollipop that looks like a television or an ice cream melting from the sun. Now, let’s see the picture from a different point of view.

It’s not a lollipop or a melting ice cream. It is a lovely gal swimming on a little swimming pool, pointing to the sky with her sexy long leg. This is one out of many creation of Julian Beever whom I think is the most creative person in the world. This British guy has made pavement drawing for over ten years all over the world. Beever works as a freelance performance artist and creates murals for companies. He has worked in the UK, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Spain, the U.S., Australia, Brazil and Argentina. Besides this pavement art, Beever also paints murals with acrylic paints and replicas of the works of masters and oil paintings, and creates collages. Amongst his other work are wood panelled drawings, usually themed around music, measuring 7 meters long by 1.5 meters high.

When I first saw his creation on the internet, I was really shocked. In my first reaction I was saying “and they magic does not exist” to myself. To make this kind of picture is not easy. But that is not the most important thing. What i see in Julian is he was able to think about this kind of creation. That is why, for me, Julian Beever is the most creative person in the world. By using chalks to draw his creation, he continues to amze people in the street.

In the picture above, you can see that people actually avoid the imaginary hole. That is the effect on how real his drawings. It is kind of funny to think that people avoiding something that actually is not there, hahahahahahahahaha. His creation does not stop just yet. like this picture.

When we see the drawings from a different view, the picture will actually look like this

Here is another example if we see the drawings of Julian Beever from the wrong angle

But from the right angle, we will see the “magic” of his drawings.

Creativity=Imagination

Imagine that you’re daydreaming in your class, just drowning in your own fantasies and imagination. Feels nice isn’t it? You are drowned in your imagination that helps you escaped for awhile from the teacher’s explanation about the courses that are being studied, from your girl or boy friend’s anger because of an honest mistake, from your parents that forces you to be a doctor, from anything you want. That is the power imagination. You can free your mind from the boundaries of sanity. When you are in your dreaming mode, your brain creates a whole new world. A world where stuff that are impossible to do in the real world possible, where rules are meant to be broken, where the law of physics does not really matter. You can create things that can not be created with the power of imagination. When that happens, you are emerging your creativity. These imaginations often connected to the real world. In my daydream, I think of something that I can’t do such as flying like superman, standing upside down, being invisible, doing telepathy communication with my friends, any lots and lots of more that human usually can’t do. I know that my imagination above is very childish and immature. However, some of my imaginations are doable for example being invisible. The creative Japanese had created a gadget that can make you invisible. HOW COOL IS THAT???? At Glodok, there is an application for cell phone that could give an infra red effect to the photos that are taken by the camera. Can you imagine such thing can be done? Think of the images that can be created by this application. The point is creativity is imagination that is brought to life. Do not underestimate the power your imagination. Don’t think of imagination is only for kids. The famous Stan Lee could not create those super incredible humans without using his imagination. Look at him now, how many of his imagination had been brought to life through comic books and movies. That is just one of many examples of the power of imagination. Who knows, you can make your imagination come true someday. And maybe, just maybe, you can make a fortune from your imagination. Be creative, be imaginative. Use your imagination to think of the impossible and make it possible.
